Reputation vs Team Building

It really becomes hard and tough to keep up reputation that we had built for one of of our business last year. but the best point of all is when the guests give us a thumbs up and we feel we've earned it. Keeping a good team intact takes lots of hardwork. It requires motivation, lending a shoulder in times of need and also being decisive on taking actions against or for them. Sometimes you feel exhausted keeping up with the market trends and your in house trends. But this is how businesses run. I've heard work-life balance, but i guess we've got to coin a new name called work-market life balance. Again thats the irony, Market and Work can never be balanced. If it was we'd all be rich and the consumers would have won the upperhand. And the attrition rate would have dropped, good staff would've been retained. Other would've improved. And I would have made a killer of a Deal/Sale.

Old is Gold

I bought Jeffrey Archer's first book "not a penny more not a penny less". it took me about 1 1/2 months to read the book which normally never happens as i always finish the novels quickly. But this i wanted to savor it slowly. I knew there'd be twist in the plot but surprised when i realized there wasn't one but two twist. It was really hilarious in the ending. if anyone of you have not read it then go grab a copy for yourself. Aint it true that old is gold.

Word of Advice

We always tend to shrug of any advice given by our seniours, parents or elderly folks. We think we can do much better than them. But sometimes being cocky doesnt help. What we dont realize that they have been there and done that. It's through their years of experiences they tend to advice or give suggestions. Giving their word a chance isnt a bad thing. we could improvise, recalculate our agenda and proceed. Hey but you know what even that doesnt stop me from giving advice. ;)
